The Story of Kim

My name is Kim and despite my passed experiences I am still a beautiful black cat which in the meantime regained her high spirits. Like most of us here at Khlongdogs I was not well taken care of and my previous owner did not care much about vaccinations. After they finally dumped me and left me for a life on the street I was unfortunately infected with cat flu and had to fight hard for my life. But despite my efforts I could not fully fight the decease and developed an infected eye which at the end had to be taken out. Somewhere in the process I was rescued by a nice lady who at least took care that I got some medical treatment. However, she had to put me up for adoption since she could not keep me forever. Honestly speaking adoption is quite a thing if you only have one eye left and my friend Jolie already explained to you what it means to be a handicapped animal in this world.

We street cats actually appreciate the internet because humans can inform each other about our need for a home and as a matter of fact others such as Dullop, Gomain or Jessica and her siblings also found a new home here at Khlongdogs. You can imagine that I was rather cautious when I came here first and like Jolie I preferred to hide myself somewhere under a sofa or in one of the dark corners of a cupboard. After some days I started to take it more easy and tried to blend in with the other cats. It actually worked out fine and I made several good friends here. Especially the young guys are very funny and always in the mood to play.

Months later my eye was inflamed again and got bigger and bigger. One may think it is enough that you only have one eye left but now the missing eye still caused me problems. However, this time it was not a virus but a simple inflammation which looked worse than it actually was. But it took me over three weeks to regain my beauty and get rid of this ugly swollen thing. Taking medicine is not exactly my thing and I developed quite some tricks to avoid swallowing the pills. But this is another story.

I am quite a cuddly little thing and whenever I see the chance I will snuggle up to Thomas or Paporn, sleep on their pillow or stay the whole night in the bedroom. Well, everybody needs a pat on the back every once in a while and I can be quite persuasive. Yes, I still only have one eye but it appears that they love me anyway. All I ever wanted was a way back into love and I truly found a good home, many friends and an environment that allows me to be a normal cat again. My impaired vision still prevents me from some activities like jumping up and down the shelves or cupboards but I can do other things with my friends. There is no such thing as a boring day.

Cats are considered natural survivors and indeed we are. But even cats do not merely strive for survival but for happiness and peace of mind. More than anything we want to be loved and you can trust me when I say that we do return more than we receive. Please consider helping others now!
